Shri Deepak Mehta is a dedicated proponent of fostering India’s industrial advancement, aiming to facilitate the growth of businesses and communities concurrently, fostering enduring value and relationships. Half a century ago, equipped with a Science degree from the University of Mumbai, he commenced his professional journey as a second-generation entrepreneur alongside his father, late Shri Chimanlal K. Mehta, delving into the exploration of uncharted domains within chemical intermediates in India. Over time, their efforts have transformed the Deepak Group into a prominent manufacturer of chemical intermediates, boasting cutting-edge facilities that offer a diverse range of more than 34 premium products, catering to over 1,500+ customers across 45+ countries worldwide. Shri Mehta’s active advocacy on industrial matters in national arenas underscores his commitment to championing best practices and policies that enhance the chemical and petrochemical sector, fostering innovation, collaboration, expansion and manufacturing excellence in India for a global audience. Having held the position of President at the Indian Chemicals Council (ICC) and contributed to the ‘Task Force on Chemicals Industry’ established by the Government of India to bolster the competitiveness of the nation’s chemical industry, he plays a pivotal role in representing and advancing the burgeoning Indian Chemical Sector. Presently, he serves as the Chairman of the National Chemicals Committee-FICCI. His actions align closely with his beliefs as he actively supports the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives undertaken by the Deepak Foundation. These initiatives focus on enhancing education, healthcare, skill development and women’s empowerment in rural communities spanning four states in India, positively impacting over 8,00,000 beneficiaries.

Smt. Ila D. Mehta is a Bachelor in Home Science. She also holds Diploma in Interior Designing from Nirmala Niketan, Mumbai and Diploma in Textile Designing from Rachana Sansad, Mumbai. She has been the President of Innerwheel Club Pune Riverside during 1995-1996 and 2003-2004. She is actively involved in development of Sankul, School for the Differently abled with Deepak Foundation. She has promoted the Heroes of Vadodara initiative and is actively involved in city development projects in Vadodara, Gujarat.

Shri Meghav Mehta is a Mechanical Engineer from the Rochester Institute of Technology (New York, USA) with a specialization in Material Science Technology and Alternative Energy. Shri Meghav Mehta has played a very crucial role in creating the Organisational Structure, formulating of Policies, setting up Internal Controls, overseeing the Operations, Digitalisation initiatives and setting up of robust IT infrastructure at the Company and across the Group. The Company has witnessed a tremendous growth of business, not only in terms of turnover and profits but also in terms of production volumes, number of customers, markets served and products offered. He is an astute strategist and was instrumental in commissioning the Phenol plant including successful implementation of various projects for manufacturing downstream products of Phenol and Acetone. He is also at the helm of affairs of digitalisation in the Group. This encompasses all spheres of activities like – procurement, marketing, operations, logistics, quality, hydrocarbon accounting etc. He is a great advocate of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning and constantly working towards engaging these concepts into and any sphere of activities of the Group. Shri Meghav Mehta completed his term as the Executive Director of the Company on May 1, 2024 and continues to be a Non-Executive Director of the Company

Shri Maulik Mehta is a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Liverpool, UK. He holds a Master’s degree in Industrial and Organisational Psychology from Columbia University, USA. He recently graduated in Owner/President Management – an executive MBA programme from the prestigious Harvard Business School, sharpening his leadership dexterity and knowledge to bring a fresh breath of global business insights and agility in the Company management. Shri Maulik Mehta has been at the helm of the organisation as the Executive Director & Chief Executive Officer of Deepak Nitrite Limited since June 2020. He took over the charge in an extremely challenging and uncertain environment during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic, where the priority was to ensure the security and healthcare of the workforce and safeguard the interests of the investors. Shri Mehta has a dynamic and innovation-driven work acumen, evident in his 15-years hands-on, outcome-driven work ethic across key areas such as business development, patent and product development, human resources, brand equity, external relations, as well as formulating a future-ready Group strategy. He is an avid ESG champion and under his leadership, the Deepak Group has embraced “Responsible Chemistry” as a mantra to drive diversity, equity, inclusion, circularity and sustainability while maximising profits and delivering value to all stakeholders. His technology-forward approach and global vision have been instrumental in developing executive strategies and initiatives that have significantly improved both the top-line and bottom-line. Shri Sandesh Kumar Anand is a Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical) from Delhi University and has done Petrochemical Course from I.I.P., Dehradun. He has completed Advanced Management course from IIM Ahmedabad. He has a rich experience of more than 50 years in the field of Project Management, Operations, Corporate Planning, Quality Management, Health, Safety and Environment Management, Energy Management and Strategic Planning in petrochemicals, refining and other allied Industries. He was also Member of various committees of State and Central Government and also the advisor of Government on Chemical Weapons Convention.

Shri Sanjay Upadhyay is a qualified Cost Accountant and a Company Secretary. He has completed an Advanced Management Programme from Wharton, USA. Shri Sanjay Upadhyay has over 40 years experience in the areas of Finance, Treasury, Taxation, Commercial, Secretarial and Corporate Restructuring. He oversees risk Management, Governance, Investor Relation and IT functions. Apart from these, he also has expertise in growth strategy, acquisitions, restructuring, etc. Shri Sanjay Upadhyay joined Deepak Nitrite Limited in 1994. During the span of his career, he has held important positions and currently he is Director (Finance) & Group Chief Financial Officer of Deepak Nitrite Limited. In his role as the Group CFO, he is focused on driving financial performance of the Company through rigour and synergy in capital allocation, investment management decisions and portfolio optimisation. Shri Sanjay Upadhyay is on the Board of several companies within the Deepak Group and is also part of various Committees of Directors across Deepak Group.

Shri Milin Mehta is a Chartered Accountant and a senior partner at K. C. Mehta & Co. LLP Chartered Accountants. He is a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and a Law Graduate. He has a rich experience in the fields of strategy, taxation, mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, etc. He was also a member of the Committee set up by the Central Board of Direct Taxes for framing ‘Income-tax Computation and Disclosure Standards’. He was also the member of the Committee appointed by the Finance Minister under the CBDT for considering the MAT Impact on introduction of IndAS and also to notify further ICDS due to the introduction of IndAS. He has been strategic advisor to several reputed listed, unlisted and private companies as independent/professional/non-executive director.

Mr. Sanjay Asher holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce and in Law from the University of Bombay. He is also a qualified Chartered Accountant. Mr. Sanjay Asher is presently a Senior Partner with Crawford Bayley & Co. He has been a practising Advocate since 1991 and was admitted as a Solicitor in 1993. He is also a qualified Chartered Accountant. He has over 30 years of experience in the field of law and corporate matters. Mr. Asher specialises in the field of corporate law and commercial law, cross-border mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions and capitals markets. Mr. Asher has authored several articles in national and international publications and also a book on the Companies Act, 2013. Mr. Asher has been the past member of Primary Market Advisory Committee of SEBI and Department of Disinvestment, Government of India.

Shri Ashok Balasubramanian is an Alumnus of the College of Engineering, Madras University, majored in Mechanical Engineering in 1979. He has studied management from MDI-Gurgaon in 1992. Shri Ashok Balasubramanian is a retired Chairman of Indian Oil Corporation Limited and has a vast experience of over four decades in the downstream oil and gas sector. He has spoken at various national and international forums on the subject.

Shri Kishor Jhalaria, is a Chemical Engineer from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. He has more than 4 decades of experience in Petrochemical Industry including 2 years at an Agrochemical manufacturing plant. He has been with Deepak Phenolics Limited since June2020. Prior to joining Deepak Phenolics, Shri Jhalaria was with Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) for around 23 years and prior to that with NOCIL for around 18 years. At Reliance, he was responsible for new project development and new capex initiatives. Earlier, he was in charge of the Olefins and Chemicals Business of RIL, comprising lower olefins and various other chemicals / synthetic rubbers. He was the team leader for the petrochemical feedstock procurement, with an annual procurement budget of over US$1bn. He also held Board positions as RIL nominee on various companies including at Gujarat Chemical Port Limited and Reliance Sibur Elastomers Private Limited.
